The Opportunity

As an Implementation Engineer at Uptrust, you will help our partners integrate with the Uptrust platform. You will work directly with our partners’ technical teams to integrate their data with our platform and to configure our applications to meet their requirements.

Implementation engineers have a diverse set of technical skills, with a focus on developing and implementing solutions to integrate our partner’s data into our product. A typical week might involve analyzing partner data with SQL and command-line tools, working with a partner’s technical team to scope and then write an ETL, and executing change requests to modify the product configuration. You will also be able to help improve our general integration quality by working on tooling, testing, and documentation for multiple aspects of our delivery strategy.

You will be an ideal candidate for this job if you have solid understanding of relational databases, are comfortable with advanced Linux commands, have moderate proficiency in Javascript, and collaborate well with both technical & non-technical roles. You will work alongside a close-knit team of passionate advocates and expert technologists. Day to day, you’ll be collaborating closely with our Implementations, Support, and Product teams, reporting to our Director of Implementations and Support.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of our product to explain the technical requirements to our partner’s technical team
  • Work with customer project teams on data integrations and product configuration to deliver the project on time
  • Explain technical specifications of Uptrust data integration. Highlight risks with customer experience when requirements are not met.
  • Maintain specification and implement ETL to load partner provided information to meet Uptrust data requirements for a successful delivery of downstream end-user communications
  • Support data analysis and issue resolution related post implementation testing and monitoring

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has: 

  • 1+ year of experience in JavaScript required.
  • Moderate SQL experience required
  • Moderate proficiency with Linux and command line tools
  • Moderate Git & GitHub
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills and can  prioritize multiple tasks at one time
  • Interest in criminal justice reform and systems change, with a belief that technology can be a force for good 

Additional skills that should be highlighted if possessed though prior experience is not required:

  • CoffeeScript experience
  • Hands-on experience modifying ETLs or using ETL tools 
  • Customer facing experience
